Betsy Lowther is a freelance writer and editor who recently returned to Washington, D.C. after four years in Asia based in Beijing and Singapore. She now reports from both the U.S. and frequent trips abroad, and regularly covers fashion, culture, travel and trends from various cities around the world, including Hong Kong, Tokyo, Mumbai, Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh City, Shanghai, New York, Paris and more. Previously, she worked as a magazine editor in New York City.

Since 2004, Betsy has been a regular contributor to the fashion industry bible Women's Wear Daily (WWD), covering topics such as local design, retail development, consumer behavior and industry trends across Asia.

She is also the creator of fashion and design blog Fashion is Spinach, which was selected by Chanel in 2007 and Gucci in 2008 as one of the most influential fashion blogs in the world. The site now receives more than 3,500 page views per day and more than 95,000 per month for its candid mix of unique finds and original style.
